Walking tour of Florence, don’t forget your whisper.

Sara Helmers- January 4th,  2013

Whomever patented “The Whisper” is very smart, and I imagine quite wealthy.  On my first morning in Florence I woke up excited to take a walking tour of the beautiful city.  Once down stairs Linda instructed me to take a whisper.  This small device that allowed your guide to speak very quietly and for all 28 of us to hear her perfectly, even in the vast and beautiful space of the Duomo.

The first lesson learned on the walking tour of Florence, stop looking up at all the beauty when you are walking…it’s just a good idea. The second lesson; Christmas being extended until the 6th of January may just be the best thing ever.

This day began a cycle that continued throughout the trip for me. Wander, explore, indulge, get to know the fantastic people I am traveling with, eat too much, and sleep too little. image
