“You eat the grapes, I’ll eat your watermelons”

January 11, 2013-Katie Mathews

The last free day in Italy some of us took an adventure to Rome! I am so happy that everything worked out with the trains to have the chance to visit not only Venice, but also the big city of Rome. We took the first train in and the last train out so that we would have as much time as possible to see all that we wanted. We arrived there around 9 in the morning, got a map, and began the countless hours of walking. We made a point to see all the most famous spots that Rome is known for, but one of my favorites was the Colosseum.
Noam and I took a walk around the circumference of the amazing arena to find Darin and Joe, whom were meeting up with us. We stumbled upon these festive fellows and had to take a picture with them! They were so hilarious and were constantly joking with us. The man in front of me had me cracking up when he told me to eat the grapes, and he would eat my watermelons. It was one of the most memorable moments of this trip by far and I even got a great picture out of it.
